BESO Executive Director attended the Segal Family Foundation Youth Work shop-Kenya 28th Jan, 2014.

From BESO Executive Director "Finally the youth network- workshop is done here in Kenya, as I received the workshop's agenda a few days, so many things came across my mind and wondered about the theme "" Design Thinking"", how a problem can be reframed, what is design thinking all about any way? and what the process look like?............ Now it is all clear to me, on the actual steps towards a new innovation.... from sensing, deep diving to prototyping; sharing our approaches/prototypes with others for feedbacks, and considering that the beneficiary is at the center of planning and execution of our work,. Not forgetting the valuable relationships/commitments we have created with fellow partners; this makes Segal Family Foundation, an outstanding partner/donor, keep it up!. And one more, the excitement of finally meeting Mr. Martin Segal sincere November 2010, when we came in contact with SFF, we have been great friends and never met; All these are great assets to BESO towards improving more livelihoods and have the opportunity to develop a healthy, productive and empathetic young person. Wishing all the partners the best and looking forward to meeting you again."

Our rural schools need so much help!!!

The government has tried its best to introduce universal primary education and secondary education but indeed this would have been done prematurely before proper preparations. One can wonder if such a school block can be used for educating the children very well. How can a pupil study in leaking building, uncondusive environment like this one It is still a long journey. one of the schools in Kayunga district.

We need to support our government in this initiative, please join the struggle.

New York Junior School additional class room construction kicked off, With Support from Segal Family foundation.

The school that was started with a mere $1600 microgrant from Spark microgrants (www.sparkmicrogrants.org) with wooden classes led to an opportunity of new generous partners with BESO, thus the Segal Family foundation that donated a generous grant of $5000 for addition of more class rooms, flooring the existing class rooms, fixing timbers on the building, BESO facilitation, supporting 10 students from the poorest families of Wanteete village and as well as extension of the school land, this has been a blessing to BESO and the impoverished Wanteete community-Kayunga District.

The school now looks incredible from flooring the old wooden building to construction of more class rooms so as more students can join the school.

This has been possible due to the generosity of Segal family foundation (www.segalfamilyfoundation.org).
We thank the Segal family foundation “African Angel” for the generous support to BESO and its projects.

Thank you.
